Bret Paddock had a great audition preforming the Gershwin Rhapsody in Blue. Bret was the very first student to perform; the auditions lasted the entire day. He was fortunate to have been chosen.

Ranen Unger Hicks was declared one of the winners in the Junior division. He performed the Bach Prelude in a minor from the English Suite #2, the Mozart Sonata In F major 3rd movement and the Chopin Nocturne op 9 no 3.

February 22, 2012, Bret Paddock performed the Gershwin Rhapsody in Blue in the piano solo category, accompanied by Eva Martin-Hollaus and he also performed two pieces in the Instrumentalist category performing double bass. Bret was declared winner in both categories.
