I am very happy to congratulate the following students to their amazing accomplishments. They all performed musicianship phases. It was George Bostan II’s first Guild audition; he performed all white key scales in Major and harmonic minor and 9 Elementary pieces. Cassiopea Bostan performed All Major, Harmonic and Melodic Minor scales, Chords / Cadences and Arpeggios and 12 pre-college pieces for her audition. Cassiopea is 10 years old. Her program included two waltzes by F Chopin and the Mozart Alla Turca.
All other students performed Scales, Chords / Cadences and Arpeggios and 7 pieces. Cynthia Phan’s program included the Prelude and Gigue from the English Suite BWV 807 by JS. Bach, the first movement of the Beethoven Sonata Op 13, a Scott Joplin Rag and the Waltz op 18 by F Chopin. Cynthia Phan is a 7th grader.
Ranen Unger Hicks, age 10 performed his 10 piece audition in the morning and an Honors recital in the afternoon. The Honors recital was for Ranen’s superior performance in the TVMTA music festival May 7, 2011 in Temecula. Ranen’s program included the invention # 8 and 12 by JS Bach, the 3 part Synphonia no 8 by JS Bach, the Khachaturian C Major Sonatina 3rd movement, the Chopin Waltz in A flat Major Op 64 no 3 and two movements of Mozart Sonatas including the 3rd movement of the Sonata in F Major K 332.
